You are one educated fun person on coffee. Great article. Your videos are great. The one where you showed a new brewing system work of art, you did not slide, because you saw yourself lurking on the side, had me laughing, and made my day. Keep it up. Take care.
Congratulations on your nomination! I loved watching your videos on TikTok when I was in the app, and I was delighted to find out you also love books and love to write. For some reason I didn’t expect you to have a newsletter, which is silly because you’re so good at telling meaningful stories in your videos.
I’m 38 and my drink of choice is still a hot chocolate (or occasionally an iced latte, one shot of espresso only, please) because I never got used to the taste of coffee by itself so I don’t like it. Even a cappuccino is usually too strong for me. And I feel a bit like you felt even not being a teenager anymore, an almost jealousy of not being in on the joys and mysteries of coffee. I want so much to be part of the gang!
I’m also extremely impressed that you still have a photo of your first cappuccino. It’s probably easier to find on social media than on a camera roll, especially now with digital when we take so many photos of everything, but still.
And I love this post idea, will definitely take it for the books that made me! So thanks for the inspo!
Your coffee descriptions, your passion and how wholesome it is to read about someone becoming the best doing the thing they love have made this piece so satisfying to read.
I've seen your content on other social media but reading about your experiences feels so much more personal! Loved this piece!
You might get a kick out of the story of my first coffee: I was 13, I think, and hadn’t been allowed to drink coffee before then. I asked my mom if I could try it and she said yes, but only if I tried it black. I didn’t know at the time, but she was trying to postpone my coffee habit because she assumed I’d hate it black. I didn’t. I vividly remember sitting on the couch, enjoying every sip. Now I drink three cups a day, so that definitely backfired lol
p.s. Americanos are my drink of choice 🥲🩷
I had a strikingly similar experience as your first cappuccino with my first macchiato. It's now my favorite, too, LOL!

Only time I drink Americano is when I’m in the UK as it’s the closest thing I can find to a regular coffee usually.
..and you get offered MILK instead of CREAM!🫣
I love this. I am in love with coffee and coffee and culture and I love finding like minded folks.
First time I had an Americano I thought it would kill me. Haha
