If we haven’t met before, welcome. If we have, hello again!
Before jumping full steam ahead into what all of *gestures vaguely* this is going to be, I thought we’d begin with some introductions: who I am, what Coffee For Here is, and who you are.
Introduction
More often than not—when they meet me for the first time—folks squint, snap their fingers in thought, and finally manage, “You’re the… that coffee person, right?”
Frankly, that’s about all you really need to know about me but for your sake and mine, I’ll give you some greater context.
I’ve been working in the specialty coffee industry for nearly eight years, having started as a barista while getting my BS in Marketing at Oregon State University. Within my first year as a barista, I began competing in the United States Barista Championship and went on to win it in 2022 before placing 2nd at that year’s World Barista Championship.
In early-2019, I made a TikTok account called MorganDrinksCoffee. I cannot emphasize how little I thought about that username at the time; it was simply who I was and what I did a lot of. Within a few months of creating short barista and customer service-themed video sketches, I had amassed over a million followers and MorganDrinksCoffee grew to include long-form YouTube videos as well. MDC now has over 8 million followers across three platforms and encompasses all things coffee: hospitality vignettes, coffee science, signature drinks, brewing equipment, and so much more.
Today, a majority of my work involves recipe development and the marriage of mixology methodology with coffee. I’m a firm believer in experimentation and pushing the boundaries of what we consider a coffee drink. I’m also a self-described texture person and you’ll see that come to light in much of what I create.
Explanation
Coffee For Here is home to all the words that are frequently bumbling around in my mind, the paragraphs that I can’t fit into video scripts, and the topics that deserve greater elaboration.
Here’s what you can expect:
Deep dives into coffee science, barista competitions, brewing, and all things beverage.
Signature beverage recipes with an emphasis on non-alcoholic ingredients.
Coffee shop guides and recommendations.
My writing and regular content round-ups so you don’t miss anything.
I am a deeply visual and tactile person so you can also expect photographs, sketches, and my chicken-scratch handwriting to accompany almost everything I publish.

First of all kudos to whoever is taking ur pictures. They are literally liquid seduction. I’m not even a coffee drinker and I want every last one of those pictures before me in the flesh, or rather in the glass!
Are those things even legal? They are so beautiful I suspect you found a way to tap into natures beauty to enhance your photos.
Does that mean I will be walking in the woods and come across a patch that is all just black and white because u used all the colors to make ur magic?
My brother used to tell me dogs see in black and white. But what did he know? He was a fabulous liar anyway.
So, having lightly touched on ur photos I suppose we should talk about your seduction.
Luring us into the phantom zone of dreamcicle froths and half caf-full cream drinks that surely came from heaven.
Mayhaps all that homeschooling and bible reading paid off? I’m thinking u and Michael the Ark, sat down and created drinks that pleased God our Father and strike morals w awe.
Michael and I are buds so I’ll ask him about it the next time he stops by.
Ok. I’ll close for now.
I am writing u a story.
I hope it’s good.
I write a lot of stories.
Tell next time may all your dreams be as vivid at ur pictures and the next time I’m in Portland you and
Yours can meet bomb Bradshaw and I at Jake’s down town.
Our treat so come hungry.really good black berry cobbler.
Finally, as steely dan said,” for one more time let your madness run with mine.”
Your pals
